Click Here for more photos. DESA 2008 really lived up to its name and slogan. Perhaps the only part that was not true from all the emailers and posters that you saw was that it was not a ‘mini’ concert. The audience was enchanted from the moment they stepped into SMU’s Arts and Cultural Centre. The ordinary square room was transformed into something no one has ever seen before – an oversimplified yet uncannily close portrayal of a village in Indonesia, complete with the congklak set, bekel, graveyard and warung stall.

Click Here for more photos. Who ever thought that classrooms could be super fun hang out places? Well, SMUKI did. What better way to transform SMU’s classroom than to use the projector as a karaoke/Winning Eleven screen, arrange the tables to play Poker and Monopoly, and best of all to have everyone gathered there not for meetings but just to have a good laugh with each other?

Click Here for more photos “I feel like learning more (of Bahasa Indonesia)” Perhaps these words expressed by the participants are the indication that Bahasa Crash Course 2008 (BCC) was a successful event! The Crash Course was studded with enthusiastic participants from countries such as China, Malaysia, Singapore, the US and South Africa. This is nothing but a testimony that SMUKI’s very own Indonesian language workshop has created its own mark in SMUKI’s history.

Click Here for more photos. Journey to the East (JoE) was a success!! Yayy!! A really huge one indeed it was. After a long summer break, nothing can be better than meeting up with your friends, sharing your super summer stories, having some light chit chats, and see how the new juniors look like.
