click here for more photos Another year in the Junglistus Academistus [Júng-lees-toos u’ka-du-mees-toos] has passed and soon some of us will graduate and leave for good. However, graduation should be celebrated. For that reason, JumanGee was introduced. JumanGee – standing for ‘Jungle Men Among Greeduates’ – has really inspire its name and slogan. People were dressed as if they were in the jungle with the leaf headband and colourful tassel worn by fellow jungle men. Then, their stomach was treated with fingerlicious food including our all time favorite Indonesian food: BATAGOR! Along with happy chat around the food container, warming up for the event was done. A performance by our very own band started the SMUKI graduation party, followed by various exciting games. The eventful night continued with our seniors’ performances in showcasing their talent and creativity of what they have learned throughout the academy, and not to forget SMUKI’s president and his team gave an entertaining jungle dance that spread laughter on everyone's faces. Perhaps the most meaningful moment from all the happenings was the time the room was darkened and the testimonial slideshow was projected. Some began to reminisce past memories. At the end of the show, the graduates share their advice to the juniors, and the SMU-well-known song ‘Closing Time’ was played as the night was ending. You can watch the slideshow here. That one night, SMUKI’s tree house was filled with joys, smiles, chuckles, and maybe tears, for the celebration had been enjoyable, memorable, and touching. After all, JumanGee was indeed a treasure that was discovered with friends around us. To all Graduates, Thank you for all the words of wisdom given to us. We hope that JumanGee has been a wonderful moment for all of you. SMUKI wish you all the best in your next episode of life. ‘Goodbye does not mean we will part, but it means you will be missed’ Love, SMUKI |
